Settenna Quarter Horse Stud

bought two foundation mares in foal in 1977. The second mare produced Settenna Invereign in 1978 and after (and during) a showing career she become the first quarter horse broodmare. Her daughter Settenna Shot Silk (by Forty Four), and grandaughter Settenna Spun Silk (by War Skeeta) are still in the broodmare band. Over the years, we have used mares with bloodlines of Wholeheartedly, Commanders Sue, Roso Tivio, Mr Moore 8, Miss Bar Bruce, Wayward Isle, Winderadeen Been a Beggar and the odd thoroughbred.

Settenna Abilene

Settenna Abilene

by War Skeeta out of Anita Bay. Ab was broken as a farm hack and was (I quote) the best farm hack Jim Milligan had ever had. ( and believe me I have ridden a number of his horses and that is high praise). Unfortunately a high wind brought a tree down behind her in her paddock and the subsequent accident left her unsound to ride, and so she is relegated the broodmare band.

Settenna Shot Silk

Settenna Shot Silk

by Forty Four out of Settenna Invereign. Silk performed very well at halter, and has an ROM in Performance. She also spent extensive hours trekking, including an 11 day trek through Molesworth Station. In her young days she was also broken to harness although we not pursue that.

Settenna Spun Silk

Settenna Spun Silk

by War Skeeta out of Settenna Shot Silk. Spinner is a very typy, laid back mare. Spinner has produced a very promising coloured filly, and a very promising liver chestnut colt, by Quarter Lena.

Supermodel

Supermodel

by Winderadeen Been A Beggar out of Sunseeker ( by Wholeheartedly). Daisy has produced performance horses.

Settenna Beaudesert

Settenna Beaudesert

by War Skeeta out of Settenna Invereign. Belle has spent two years as a farm hack and is now looking at a very low key show career, plenty of trekking, and will be put in foal to Quarter Lena in the next few years.

Settenna Invereign and Carol Milligan

Settenna Invereign

, a first cross by Kings Mingo Inver proved to be a great first western show horse and was shown at halter and in performance and proved to be a great youth horse. She has produced successful halter horses and ROM performance.

Anita Bay

by Wholeheartedly out of Commanders Sue. Anna was leased from Aurora Twomey over a ten year period and produced quality foals for both of us. Her offspring have proved themselves as performance horses and we are very proud of her son, Settenna Budlight, who is now roping in Queensland.

Trendsetter

Trendsetter

by Wholeheartedly out of Miss Bar Bruce. Trendy was shown extensively by Keith Harrison and has a ROM in performance. Her offspring have proven themselves as performance horses and one is competing very successfully as a roping horse.

Moore Lynx

Moore Lynx

by Roso Tivio out of Vanetta Moore (Mr Moore 8). Bobby, prior to her time here, was used as a brood mare for Morgans and her daughter become Horse of the Year in the harness section. She then produced several stunning halter and performance horses by War Skeeta. A very well proven performance horse producer.

Nifty Isle

by Wayward Isle out of Rondo (Puketotara Parr) Nifty was bought in partnership with Diana Ward, but unfortunately only produced one foal for us before she passed on.
